What are in a full FREE Duolingo English Test?

The latest question type is Interactive Reading (updated in July 2022) which was added to a wide range of question types in the Duolingo English Test. Do you know all these thirteen types?

They are all scored questions except the Speaking Sample, which is the only unscored one. So, we have created several DET Ready Full Tests for your preparation. Each Full Test is similar to the real Duolingo English Test, which offers the same experience. 

In our DET Ready Full Tests, you will face all question types except the Speaking Sample because it’s an unscored one. Here is the frequency of all question types that appear in the DET.

1. Read and Complete

• Requirement: Type the missing letters to complete the given text 
• Frequency: 04 times 
• Timer: 03 minutes

2. Read and Select

• Requirement: Select the real English words in the given list 
• Frequency: 04 times 
• Timer: 01 minute

3. Listen and Select

• Requirement: Select the real English words in the given list 
• Frequency: 04 times 
• Timer: 1.5 minutes

4. Listen and Type

• Requirement: Type the statement that you hear 
• Frequency: 04 times 
• Timer: 01 minute

5. Read Aloud

• Requirement: Record yourself saying the given statement 
• Frequency: 04 times 
• Timer: 20 seconds

6. Write About the Photo

• Requirement: Write one or more sentences that describe the given image 
• Frequency: 03 times 
• Timer: 01 minute

7. Speak About the Photo

• Requirement: Speak for at least 30 seconds about the given image 
• Frequency: 01 time 
• Preparation time: 20 seconds
• Timer: 1.5 minutes

Note: Regarding all speaking questions, you have the first 20 seconds to prepare.

8. Read then Write

• Requirement: Respond to the question in at least 50 words 
• Frequency: 01 time
• Timer: 05 minutes

9. Read then Speak

• Requirement: Prepare to speak for at least 30 seconds about the given question
• Frequency: 01 time 
• Preparation time: 20 seconds
• Timer: 1.5 minutes

Note: Regarding all speaking questions, you have the first 20 seconds to prepare.

10. Listen then Speak

• Requirement: Prepare to speak for at least 30 seconds about the given question
• Frequency: 02 times
• Preparation time: 20 seconds
• Timer: 1.5 minutes

11. Interactive Reading 

• Requirement: This is a set of another 05 different question types; you can check them all in detail through this article, “Everything about the Interactive Reading”.
• Frequency: 02 sets
• Timer for each set: 7-8 minutes

12. Writing Sample 

Requirement: Write for 3 to 5 minutes about the given topic

Frequency: 01 time

Timer: 05 minutes

13. The meaning of your estimated scores

After taking your full DET Practice Test, you will see the following estimated score.

In your result feedback, you will have estimated scores for overall, sub-scores, and each question type. You should know that the scores are estimated because it's similar to 15-minute FREE Practice tests provided by the official Duolingo English Test website. Besides, there are other elements that may affect your scores, such as your mood, preparation, stage of sleep, confidence, and so on.

As a result, these full DET estimated scores should ONLY be used for your reference in order to advance your skills. For example, we strongly suggest all test takers spend time on improving question types in which they don't get above 70% score.
